The story

Lorenzo Pazzaglia is a chef turned perfumer. His roots are in Cagli, in the hills of the Marche region, within the walls of the family restaurant, Il Poggio: it is there, the maison says, that his “first laboratory of emotions” came to life, between the sound of a sizzling pan and the aroma of Sunday ragù. There smell and taste began to speak to each other, and the desire was born to tell stories through scents. Today Lorenzo lives in Fano, facing the Adriatic: the sea is the other half of his world.

At first it was a game. “Just like a rebellious alchemist”, Lorenzo began experimenting with essential oils and let friends and restaurant guests try his creations: real people, with sincere reactions. In 2015 came the first perfume, Extreme Passion; in 2017 it was followed by Pax, his self-portrait, “Lorenzo Pazzaglia's Big Heart”. In 2021 the brand that now signs all the fragrances was born, PAX by Lorenzo Pazzaglia: Italian artistic perfumery, created, the maison says, with passion, love and “a touch of bold, marvelous madness”.

The style is recognisable at once. Lorenzo Pazzaglia's perfumes are intense Extrait de Parfum with a generous trail: “they don't follow: they lead”. Each creation, the maison declares, is entirely handmade in Italy. The collections tell of his worlds: the sea of the Sea Collection, the vanillas of the Vanilla Collection, the sweets of the Gourmand Collection, the cocktails of the Cocktail Collection, the self-portraits of the Self Portrait Collection, which also includes Carbonara, the tribute to the dish that made his name as a chef. The awards have come too: Summer Hammer won Best New Fragrance at the Perfume Awards 2024 in Madrid, Sun-Gria is Fragrance of the Year 2024 at the Scentxplore Awards in New York, Black Sea and Speachless won at the Snouf Awards 2025, Tropikalys Karma at the Art Niche Expo 2026 in Romania.

Yes. Carbonara is Lorenzo Pazzaglia's tribute to the dish that made his name as a chef and to the pleasure of sitting down at the table together. It does not smell of pasta: it is an amber spicy Extrait de Parfum with three kinds of pepper, coconut, rum, vanilla and oud, creamy and enveloping.
