Salum

The story

Salum is a Latin word: it evokes the open sea, the wide horizon and the freedom of travel. The brand was born from an idea by Massimiliano Minorini, an art director with long experience in the world of perfumery, and made its debut in 2023 at Esxence, in Milan, with its first sea-inspired fragrances. It belongs to Italart, a perfume company from Parma, and creates its fragrances in Italy. There is only one rule: each perfume is a route to follow. “The sea is the heart, but not the only protagonist”, the house writes: around it are the winds, the landscapes and the flavours of the places it washes.

Each collection is a different sea. Arabian Vibes, the first, tells of the nights of the Arab world: it includes Delicious Bay, with dates, honey and white oud. In 2024 the route led to Polynesia with Polynesian Soul: this is where Cocoyster was born, the meeting of the saline freshness of oyster and the sweetness of coconut, which became Salum's signature perfume, alongside the turquoise pool of Strawberry Pool, the cocktail of Blue Mai Tai and the white flowers of Salty Tiarè. That same year Treasure Island landed in Madagascar, with the vanilla of Vanilla Monsoon, the fruits of Tropylang and the cola accord of Sparkling Tamarind; in 2025 the gourmand Exotic Chocolate joined them.

The success of Cocoyster led in 2025 to Tropical Juice: three fruity variations, born from its creamy, salty heart, each dedicated to a tropical fruit, the mini banana of Cocoyster Bananita, the guava of Cocoyster Moorea Guava, the star fruit of Cocoyster Carambola. In 2026 the journey came home with Med Mon Amour, the Mediterranean collection: Fig Tzatziki evokes the Greek summer, Lemonade Coast the lemon groves of the Sorrento coast, Aromatic d'Azur the light of the Côte d'Azur.

Behind the compositions are perfumers Luca Maffei and Sofia Bardelli; Fig Tzatziki is signed by Luca Maffei with Lorenzo Berti. Almost all the fragrances are Extrait de Parfum, made to stay on the skin for a long time; the three in Tropical Juice are Eau de Parfum Intense. These are perfumes that are not afraid to surprise: an oyster, a Greek sauce, a swimming pool, a glass of cola become accords to wear, always with a smile. “Our journey has only just begun”, Salum promises.
