The Spirit of Dubai

The story

The Spirit of Dubai is the luxury perfume line of Nabeel Perfumes, the house founded in 1969 by Asghar Adam Ali, known as Al Attar, who signs its fragrances as master perfumer. “An inspiration. A celebration. A tribute.”: this is how the house presents its homage to Dubai, a city of contrasts between ancient tradition and the luxury of a cosmopolitan society.

The line made its debut in 2015 at Esxence in Milan, and in the same year received two Luxury Packaging Awards in London. Each bottle is a collector's piece that tells of one face of the city: the white waves of Dubai Bahar, the glass and metal skyscrapers of Dubai Abraj, the golden horseshoe of Dubai Meydan, inspired by the nobility of the Arabian stallion, the woven carpet of Dubai Majalis, dedicated to Arabian hospitality. The First Generation bottles are wrapped in leather or leather-finish pouches, each in a different colour.

The fragrances are made in the group's plants in the SAIF Zone of Sharjah, in the United Arab Emirates, and the house has a boutique in Knightsbridge, London. Over time the Niche Collection, the First Generation, has been joined by Dubai Turath, a tribute to Dubai's cultural heritage, Dubai Roeya, Dubai Ajyal and, more recently, Dubai Sama and Dubai Marsa; alongside it is the ultra-niche Second Generation.

• Niche Collection, First Generation (Eau de Parfum): Dubai Meydan (2015, amber leather with grapefruit, lavender, tobacco, oud and leather), Dubai Bahar (2015, marine woody with lemon, marine notes, rose, jasmine and vanilla), Dubai Abraj (2015, amber chypre with bergamot, lavender, red rose and patchouli), Dubai Rimal (2015, amber spicy with saffron, cinnamon, incense and leather), Dubai Majalis (2016, woody amber with qahwa, dates, Taif rose and oud), Dubai Fakhama (2016, amber floral with Turkish and Bulgarian rose, oud and vanilla), Dubai Turath (2019, woody amber with fruits, spices, rose, oud and leather), Dubai Roeya (2022, woody spicy with neroli, saffron, jasmine sambac and oud), Dubai Ajyal (2023, fruity floral with bergamot, plum, cherry blossom and vanilla), Dubai Sama (2025, woody floral with apricot, Turkish rose, osmanthus and oud), Dubai Marsa (2026, gourmand woody with milk, cherry, coconut, tuberose and praline).
