Fugazzi

The story

Fugazzi was born in Amsterdam in 2018 from an idea by Bram Niessink, a Dutch entrepreneur who came to perfume from fashion: before fragrances he had founded BYB Amsterdam, a headwear and accessories label. The spark, he says, came during a trip to Egypt, in front of the ancient perfumed oils. From there he built the house “driven by curiosity and instinct”, with a stated goal: to challenge conventions and approach fragrance in a way that feels bold, modern and unlike anyone else.

The name plays on the word “fugazi”, which suggests illusion: for the house it refers to “something elusive, an illusion, a feeling that cannot be fully captured but is impossible to ignore”. In the logo one letter gives way to a Cyrillic-inspired character, and the motto with which Fugazzi introduced itself says the rest: “Fragrances made to question, not understand”. The house calls it “playful luxury”: ironic names such as Sugardaddy, Workaholic or Cash Flower, bottles with essential lines and fragrances that are all unisex.

The first perfume is Parfum 1, from 2018. The early creations were simply numbered: Workaholic was born as Parfum 4, Thirsty as Parfum 5. Today the collection is divided into two lines, the Eau de Parfum, at a 20% concentration, and the Extrait de Parfum, at 30%. Angel Dust, Vanilla Haze and Orange Crush exist in both versions, and each time the extrait is a new reading, not simply a stronger copy. Then there is the “oudh” thread, recognisable by its puns: Goudh, Passionfroudh, Pomegranoudh. The best loved remains Angel Dust, built around cashmeran, which the house calls the “polite molecule”.

In just a few years Fugazzi has opened two boutiques, in Amsterdam, in the Nine Streets district, and in Tokyo, and has reached department stores and perfumeries all over the world. In 2024 it signed a mirror collaboration with the Korean house Born To Stand Out: each of the two created a fragrance inspired by the other. In 2026 came Nicocello, dedicated to the limoncello that Nico, Bram's father, has always made at home: it is made in Italy and is an exclusive for the Italian market. The fragrances

At OUD Profumeria Artistica you will find nineteen Fugazzi fragrances, all unisex, and the Angel Dust shower foam. We present them by line and by character; next to each name are the olfactory family and the notes that make it recognisable.

• The Eau de Parfum (20%): Angel Dust (woody musky: Calabrian bergamot, cashmeran and white amber), Vanilla Haze (gourmand amber: coconut milk, almond, vanilla pod and crème brûlée), Orange Crush (citrus woody: orange, white amber and transparent wood).
• The same three as Extrait de Parfum (30%): Angel Dust Extrait de Parfum (woody spicy: pink pepper, black pepper, cashmeran and dark wood), Vanilla Haze Extrait de Parfum (gourmand amber: hazelnut, Madagascar vanilla, clove and saffron), Orange Crush Extrait de Parfum (citrus woody: orange, musk, pepperwood and akigalawood).
• The “oudh” series: Goudh (woody spicy: oud, grapefruit, Bulgarian rose and leather), Passionfroudh (fruity woody: passion fruit, mango, black tea and Oud Assafi), Pomegranoudh (fruity woody: pomegranate, red fruits, oud wood and vanilla).
• Citrus and fresh: Nicocello (citrus woody: lemon, blood orange, citron and black pepper, in 100 ml only), Nocologne (citrus aromatic: Calabrian bergamot, grapefruit, ginger and clary sage), In Love With The Cocos (citrus fruity: lemon zest, coconut water and orange blossom), Thirsty (floral fruity: apple, galbanum, bamboo and fig).
• Florals: Cash Flower (floral spicy: rose petals, pepper, amber and sandalwood), Saint Rémy (floral amber: white iris, juniper berries, magnolia and leather), Born To Stand Out x Fugazzi (floral woody: rose, geranium, pepper, tobacco and leather).
• Spicy and gourmand: Parfum 1 (woody spicy: citrus, blackcurrant, davana, olibanum and Australian sandalwood), Sugardaddy (fruity spicy: tangerine, blackcurrant, nutmeg and patchouli), Workaholic (gourmand spicy: coffee, Bulgarian rose, nutmeg and tonka bean).
• For the body: Angel Dust Foaming Shower Gel, the 200 ml vegan shower foam with the Angel Dust fragrance.

Three fragrances exist in both versions and the extrait is not simply a stronger copy: Angel Dust Extrait de Parfum doubles cashmeran and white amber and adds pink pepper, Vanilla Haze Extrait de Parfum is the night-time, spicier version, and Orange Crush Extrait de Parfum replaces the transparent wood with akigalawood.

Are Fugazzi perfumes for men or for women?

What kind of perfume is Fugazzi Nicocello?
Nicocello is a citrus extrait de parfum released in 2026 as an exclusive for Italy. It comes from a family story: Nico, the founder's father, gives that name to the limoncello he makes at home. It opens with lemon, blood orange, citron and bergamot and settles on a base of modern woods. It is made in Italy and comes in one size only, 100 ml.
