The story

Thameen London was born in London in 2013, the idea of Saudi entrepreneur Basel Binjabr. The name means “precious” in Arabic, and the house takes it literally: every perfume starts from a legendary gemstone or jewel, and the house presents itself as a treasure to be discovered through scent. The first perfumes, inspired by precious stones, arrived at Selfridges that same year; today Thameen also creates exclusive fragrances for Harrods and Selfridges.

The house's signature is the Extrait de Parfum, rich in concentration and created, says Thameen, for exceptional longevity, in the blue bottle that is its signature. In the Treasure Collection every fragrance tells the story of a jewel: Blue Heart, the largest heart-shaped blue diamond in the world; Peregrina, one of the oldest and most valuable pearls, once owned by Mary I of England and Elizabeth Taylor; Patiala, the necklace of 2,930 diamonds created in 1928 for the Maharaja of Patiala; Regent Leather, the Regent Diamond, created in association with the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club. The Sovereign Collection is inspired by the British Crown Jewels, like Royal Sapphire and St Edward's Sapphire.

Today the artistic direction is in the hands of Christopher Chong, long-time creative director of Amouage. Since 2023 the house has also had the Britologne Collection, whose name combines British and Cologne: Cologne Elixirs that reinterpret classic cologne with British flair. Fanfare, Bohemian Infusion and Bravi form the Covent Garden trilogy, from the Flower Market to the Royal Opera House; Chords and Bold As Love tell the story of Brook Street, home to Handel and, more than two centuries later, Jimi Hendrix; Centre Stage brings the cabaret clubs of the 1920s to the stage.
