Bold As Love is a unisex fragrance by Thameen London, the British house founded in London in 2013, whose name means “precious” in Arabic, now led by artistic director Christopher Chong. Part of the Britologne collection, which reinterprets classic cologne in a contemporary British key, it is a Cologne Elixir as rich and long-lasting as a perfume. Bold and moving, it is an aromatic leather with a fruity opening and a base of smoky leather.

The Fragrance

Bold As Love is a tribute to Jimi Hendrix, who lived at 23 Brook Street, next door to George Frideric Handel's house: more than two hundred years later, the musical history of that London street continues with another legendary musician. Created by master perfumer Pierre Negrin under the creative direction of Christopher Chong, the fragrance is inspired by Hendrix's sensuality, artistry and emotional complexity. Negrin explains that he started from an image of the guitarist in a purple outfit, to translate into scent the raw energy he unleashed on stage and his unmistakable style.

How It Evolves on Skin

The opening is lively and juicy: mandarin and ginger join an apple and pineapple fruity accord. The aromatic part arrives in the heart, with lavender, juniper berries and geranium. The base is intense and magnetic: smoky leather intertwines with patchouli and vetiver, leaving a powerful, charismatic trail.
