Unique'e Luxury

The story

Unique'e Luxury is an independent Turkish-American perfume house, founded in 2017 by Serhat Okyay and Selim Özen. The perfumes are designed in California, where the brand is based, in Irvine, and made in Türkiye, where it has its roots and its second office, in Izmir. “Rather than following passing trends, we create fragrances for people who are drawn to something less expected”, the house writes in its presentation.

The debut came in 2018 with six perfumes, among them Aphrodisiac Touch, Hidden Accords and the two tributes to Turkish cities, Istanbul and Izmir. 2019 brought Kutay, Akdeniz, Beril, Soscentific and Chocolate Makes Me Happy, and 2021 Crush On Me and Beverly Hills Exclusive. In 2023 the house presented Mashumaro, whose name is the Japanese word for marshmallow, Mangonifiscent and Zen'gi; then Woud & Mood Absolute in 2024, Ocean The Rive in 2025, D'Olcezza and Chicelle in 2026.

At Pitti Fragranze in Florence, where it has exhibited, the brand named Crush On Me, Kutay, Beverly Hills Exclusive and Akdeniz as its globally loved, critically acclaimed masterpieces, with Chocolate Makes Me Happy, Istanbul, Mashumaro and Mangonifiscent among its best sellers. Kutay, Crush On Me and Akdeniz are also the three most rated Unique'e Luxury perfumes on Fragrantica, with hundreds of reviews each.

On its website the house lists Woud & Mood Absolute, Istanbul, Akdeniz and Zen'gi among its most desired, and describes its perfumes in short phrases: Kutay is whiskey at full intensity, Mashumaro softness with a smoky soul, Mangonifiscent mango in its most luxurious form, Ocean The Rive a breath of the open sea. The bottles have a recognisable character too: striking red for Crush On Me, matte black with a gold Swarovski detail for Woud & Mood Absolute.

The whole line is Extrait de Parfum, unisex, in the 100 ml bottle; Chicelle, which the brand presents as a women's fragrance, comes in 50 ml. The names tell of the house's journeys between East and West: Akdeniz is the Turkish name for the Mediterranean Sea, Beverly Hills looks to California, Istanbul and Izmir to Türkiye. Unique'e Luxury is distributed through selected perfumeries in more than thirty countries.

• The debut, 2018: Aphrodisiac Touch (spicy amber with clove, cinnamon, saffron, rose and orris), Hidden Accords (floral gourmand with pear, orange blossom, coffee and jasmine), Istanbul (gourmand citrus with grape, lemon tea, neroli and toffee), Izmir (citrus fruity with pineapple, mandarin, orris and tonka bean).
• 2019: Kutay (woody amber with whisky, davana, oud, caramel and tobacco), Akdeniz (marine aromatic with marine notes, grapefruit, thyme, lavender and leather), Beril (citrus spicy with mandarin, cardamom, nutmeg and rose), Soscentific (fruity floral with osmanthus, strawberry, peach and cherry), Chocolate Makes Me Happy (gourmand spicy with dark chocolate, cacao, ginger and coffee).
• 2021: Crush On Me (gourmand woody with lime, saffron, orris, caramel and patchouli), Beverly Hills Exclusive (amber gourmand with honey, tobacco, rose and tonka bean).
• 2023: Mashumaro (gourmand amber with marshmallow, milk, incense and caramel), Mangonifiscent (fruity floral with mango, rose, jasmine and honey), Zen'gi (citrus woody with grapefruit, ginger, red wine, honey and olibanum).
• Since 2024: Woud & Mood Absolute (2024, woody amber with saffron, guaiac wood, oud and leather), Ocean The Rive (2025, marine aromatic with sea breeze, basil and blue chamomile), D'Olcezza (2026, gourmand amber with red berries, coconut milk, cacao and praline), Chicelle (2026, fruity gourmand with strawberry, Granny Smith apple, peony and praline).
