MONOLITHE BLACK RUNE
RUNES functioned like letters, but they were much more than just letters in the sense we understand the term today.
Each rune was an ideographic or pictographic symbol of some cosmological principle or power, and writing a rune meant invoking and directing the force for which it stood. Runes were engraved by hand on hard stones that had evocative powers.
