Dopamine belongs to Katharsis, the perfumer's most instinctive collection, where every fragrance is born from an impulse rather than a reasoning. Monegal reaches this composition after a lifetime spent training between Geneva, Grasse and Paris, the fourth generation of a family that has breathed perfume for a century, yet here he chooses the opposite of calculated refinement: he goes straight, with no intermediate steps. The result is a fruity floral that opens on an accord of pineapple so juicy it feels freshly cut, the first sign of a euphoria that then widens into a soft heart and a warm, clean base. In the first minutes Dopamine does not announce itself, it bursts: pineapple, mango and raspberry arrive together, with no hierarchy, in a tropical ignition that is the fragrance's true calling card. After about half an hour the heart takes shape and softens that initial rush: ylang ylang brings a creamy floral nuance, cyclamen adds a green freshness, while helional introduces an aquatic facet that makes everything more airy, almost dew soaked. In the following hours the fragrance settles into a warm, clean base, with ambroxan and vanilla adding softness, oakmoss and white musk closing with a discreet yet enveloping trail that follows the skin without ever weighing it down.

Pineapple, mango, raspberry. The first time we sprayed it in the shop, the opening did exactly what it promises: it lit up the room. Then ylang ylang arrives and the fragrance softens, without ever fully switching off. It is not a perfume for everyone, and that is fine. Some people try it and put it back, some try it and cannot take it off for a week. Not much in between. It belongs to Ramon Monegal's most personal line, the one where the master perfumer let go of every restraint. You can feel it. Anyone who tries it in our boutique tends to describe it the same way: energetic, sometimes almost bold, never boring.
