With Oud for Happiness, Initio takes the Black Gold Project into a sunnier register than Oud for Greatness. The maison presents it as a portal to joy: a different way of telling the story of oud, less dark and more playful, where the most precious material of the East meets fresh, sweet accents in an unexpected balance.

How It Evolves on Skin

The opening is citrusy and pungent: bergamot and ginger light up the composition straight away. Then comes licorice, sweet and slightly spicy, the note you recognise most from start to finish. In the heart oud and cedarwood become more present, wrapped in that same sweetness. In the base vanilla and musk soften everything into a creamy close, freshened by a touch of herbal notes.
