Junoon is a unisex eau de parfum by Sasva, the Indian artistic perfume house whose name means “excellent, praiseworthy” in Sanskrit. Its name means “mad passion”: signed by Hamid Merati-Kashani, it is an intense, passionate spicy woody fragrance, inspired by one of the greatest love stories of Persian literature.

The Fragrance

Junoon is inspired by “Layla and Majnun”, the poem by the great Persian poet Nizami Ganjavi: the story of a love so total that it turns into madness, and that in its very madness purifies the soul, reaching the Sufi ideal of a higher spiritual consciousness. The fragrance translates this passion into a warm, deep trail, where the rose appears as a discreet echo of the beloved, while spices and woods tell of sleepless nights and endless dreams.

How It Evolves on Skin

The opening is aromatic and surprising: sage and lavender meet the white, creamy note of tuberose. In the heart the fragrance lights up with rose, saffron and labdanum, supported by the earthy depth of patchouli. In the base, oud and patchouli blend with the sweetness of tonka bean and vanilla, in a warm, resinous, enveloping base.
