Silky Woods is an eau de parfum by Goldfield & Banks, the Australian luxury perfume house founded by Dimitri Weber. Signed by perfumer Hamid Merati-Kashani and launched in 2021, it is the fragrance that inaugurated the precious Botanical Series: a sensual, luxurious woody gourmand, concentrated at 25%, housed in a golden bottle.

The Fragrance

Silky Woods is inspired by the ancient rainforests of Tropical Queensland and by botanist Joseph Banks' first voyage to Australia: a celebration of the abundance of Australian nature and of artisanal innovation. At its centre is Tropical Australian agarwood which, as the brand tells it, is sustainably harvested for the first time in perfume history. Each French glass bottle is lacquered in gold infused with 24-carat gold powder, a tribute to the romance of the Gold Rush and the continent's natural heritage. Like all of the house's creations, it combines Australian raw materials with French savoir-faire.

How It Evolves on Skin

The opening is warm and delicate: Ceylon cinnamon joins rich tobacco leaves, for a spicy, enveloping start. In the heart, exotic Madagascan ylang ylang and creamy Tahitian vanilla unfold, soft and silky. As the hours pass, Tropical Australian agarwood emerges with its musky depth, softened by a suede accord and enriched with saffron, incense and Australian sandalwood, in a woody, smoky, sensual trail.
